What's something you did when you were younger that you still haven't confessed to your parents?
Submitted by Bizz.
LOL. So many to choose from. I was the typical good kid who was just really good at hiding my bad streak.
Probably the biggest thing I can think of was destroy the outhouse of the couple who had a summer cabin next to us. The lady was a bitch. She got mad because my dog Thor was always into her flowers. So one day she poisoned the dog. I was around four I guess. I never really got over it, and still miss my dog. Anyway a few years later on, knowing full well who had killed my dog, I took a baseball bat to their outhouse. Fitting payback, kill the dog for peeing on your flowers and I'm going to make it difficult for you to pee. We did it (yes I had accomplices) when they weren't around, so it was months before the police came around to ask questions. And I don't think they ever figured out who did it. Besides, it was the 80s by that time anyway. Time to invest in some indoor plumbing...
What are your top 5 CDs/albums of 2006?
Submitted by eliz. s.There were albums released in 2006? It's been a seriously slow year for me musically.
Eyes Open - Snow Patrol...
Knives Don't Have Your Back - Emily Haines and the Soft Skeleton
Ta-Dah! - Scissor Sisters
Fundamental - Pet Shop Boys
Rudebox - Robbie Williams
(LOL. I had no choice. They are the only albums I have that were released this year that I can even think of...SIGH!)
Which cartoon character best represents you?
Submitted by Know It All.
Cartoon? Or comic book? LOL. You know which way I'm going with this one.
I always read a lot of myself into comic book characters. As for me? There's a few out there who seem to have grown down the same path I have. Two come immediately to mind...
Obsidian: The angry hero who seemed socially inept for ages. Then he accepted who he was, and went with it, and is a much more well adjusted person, seems happy in his life, and all the clues over the years all seem to add up for me. Even found out late in life he had another sibling out there he didn't know about. Blue Beetle / Ted Kord: The geeky technology loving social butterfly inventor type. With a deep serious side that most don't get to see until they get close. Ha. He even had my weight problems. I can do without the brain splatter from being shot in the head though.
What are your weekend plans?
I'm studying. Engineering law and ethics. So much fun. For those who don't know, I'm writing my professional practice exam in Engineering on the 16th. It's a two hour exam with 100 multiple choice questions. To become an engineer in Canada you need to do five years of school, plus four years of on the job experience diaries, and write this exam to finally become an engineer. Yes I have the iron ring, that came with finishing my courses at University, but I'm not officially allowed to call myself an Engineer until the diaries are done, submitted and approved, and I've passed the exam.
And for those keeping track, what usually is a 9 year process took me 15. Who said procrastination isn't my thing. First it was 2 extra years of university. Then I put off writing my experience diaries until last fall when I was told, write them or forget it. The exam on the 16th is the last one I could take. One year after my diaries were submitted.
Oh, but I did take time out to go for coffee with Mike this afternoon. That was fun.
Do you like surprises?
Not really. I'm a planner. Suprises mess me up. Especially since I usually get the kind that say you owe $1200 for repairs to your car when you take it in for a routine $20 inspection...
What's the last thing you usually do or think about before you fall asleep?
Last thing I do? I always read before bed. Always. That's where the comics come in handy - easy to curl up with a couple of books and plow through them before nodding off. Right now I'm reading a novel, and staying up way too late as I keep going into the next chapter and then the one after that....
What TV show(s) will you be watching this season? Why?
Submitted by ducnly.vox.com.
Lost Season 3 because I've loved the other two. Waiting for this one to jump the shark though. The whole black cloud monster got close last season for me...
Heroes. It starts tonight. Several normal people end up with superpowers. It plays to my comic book fanness. I'll be checking it out to see how it is.
JJ Abrams new one. The Seven? The Nine? Not sure. It's on after Lost though, which means I'm probably in front of the TV anyway. I'll check it out.
Amazing Race. I love this show. Only reality I really watch...
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Night owl. Definitely a night owl. Mornings are hell. As witnessed by multiple alarm clocks over the past couple of years. In my confusion I seem to be able to rip the things out of the wall and regularily toss them across the room when I can't get the noise to stop.
And I never get to bed when I should. It's when I get creative. It's when I'm most talkative. It's when I enjoy time to myself the most, and typically where my friends and I see each other. Late nights are me.
Afternoons were made for naps. :o)
That's a horrible story!! Only a person without a soul could poison someone's pet. I'm sorry that you lost your... read more
